Superstar Rajinikanth, who left for Singapore on May 27 along with his family for further treatment of renal failure, has been admitted to an intensive care unit of Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, Singapore, one of the best hospitals in Asia.
Sources indicate that the superstar might undergo kidney transplantation soon, but no confirmation has come yet. The hospital is also refusing to provide any details pertaining to the superstar’s health to maintain privacy. It is noteworthy that the former Samajwadi General Secretary Amar Singh underwent kidney transplantation a few months ago at the same hospital.
Meanwhile, reports say that it was Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan who advised Rajinikanth to go to Mount Elizabeth in Singapore for further treatment. Bachchan, who is very close to the superstar, is deeply concerned about his recurrent ill-health in the recent past. Rajinikanth and Bachchan acted together in blockbusters Andha Kanoon and Hum. Since then, the two veterans have been thick friends.
