But comparatively books on Tamil Cinema (which is in it's golden age now) is lesser. Keeping this in mind Now G. Dhananjayan, Chief -- South Film Business of UTV Motion Pictures along with Galatta Media presents you 'The Best of Tamil Cinema: 1931 to 2010' , a 650 plus pages (designed and published by Galatta Media) book that covers details of blockbusters of Tamil Cinema from 1931 to 2010, from the first Tamil talkie film Kalidas (1931) to Nandhalala (2010). It narrates the journey and growth of the industry through a period of eight decades. Volume I presents the best films released between 1931 and 1976, while Volume II deals with the period between 1977 and 2010. To add more, the book launch (today) is turning out to be a grand affair. The guest of honours for the event include actors Kamal Haasan, Sivakumar, Parthiban, Sarathkumar, directors Mahendra, Balu Mahendra, K. Bhagyaraj, S.M. Dhananjayan and Galatta Media for their wonderful effort. >>> Following this director Karu Palaniappa spoke about his experiences in cinema. And then perfectionist Sivakumar gave an interesting lecture about the history of Tamil cinema with anecdotes. >>> King of screenplay, Bhagyaraj spoke about the trivias and other interesting details from the book.
